Real Madrid has won three Champions League trophies under Carlo Ancelotti.

Contradictory to the infallible state they had garnered this time last year, Real Madrid have been hit with inconsistency this season. The team has been exceptional in many outings and has looked completely out of sorts in games they were expected to dominate and win. The dropping of points has hurt their position in La Liga and currently, they are trailing arch-rivals Barcelona, who have a superior goal difference and a game in hand to obtain a 3-point advantage. While Real Madrid are alive in contention for the treble, they are at a crucial stage in all three competitions, and anything can happen.

Carlo Ancelotti On His Future with Real Madrid

In case a disaster transpires, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti will draw the blame and in an unfortunate case could endure the sacking as well. With Xabi Alonso being linked with Madrid to come as a potential replacement for Ancelotti, the assertions are flowing that the club's president Florentino Perez has already visioned a reality past Don Carlo.

Speaking about his future with Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti stated that the decision to keep him as the manager rests with the president and his departure is inevitable sooner or later.

"I don't know when. I don't decide. The only clear thing I know is that I don't decide when I will leave, the president will. It will happen sooner or later." He told  PoretCast di Giacomo Poretti.

In January, Ancelotti laughed off speculation he had decided to leave at the end of the season regardless of results and pointed to Florentino Perez's re-election.

"I want to be very clear: the departure date of this club is never going to be decided by me in my life,' he said. 'I have the advantage that Florentino will stay for four more years and I have the objective of reaching them with him.

"We can say goodbye together."

Ancelotti signed a new deal as Madrid's head coach at the end of 2023, committing his future until 2026, and he appears to be in no hurry to take up a new challenge. It should be noted that Carlo Ancelotti's second stint with Real Madrid began in 2021. During his stay as the boss, Ancelotti won two Champions League trophies and as many La Liga titles with the club. He also ended the club's Copa del Rey wait in 2023.
