Real Madrid star striker Kylian Mbappe has leveled Cristano Ronaldo's feat of scoring most goals in the group stage of a UEFA Champions League campaign. The French player scored a brace for Real Madrid as they ran out 6-1 winners against former club AS Monaco at the Bernabeu.

The French forward carried his sensational form in this season's Champions League with an amazing brace in the first half of his side's meeting with Monaco. The 27-year-old took his tally in the competition this season to 11 goals in only six games for Real Madrid.
Mbappe's brace took him level with Cristiano Ronaldo. who amassed 11 goals in the group stage of the competition in the 2015-16 season. No player has ever scored more goals than the French player and Ronaldo in the group/league phase of the Champions League.

Real Madrid have one last league fixture against Benfica, and Kylian Mbappe will hope to break Ronaldo's record in that game. He will also have his target on Cristiano Ronaldo's record tally of 17 goals in a Champions League season, given the kind of form he is having this season.

Real Madrid star forward Vinicius Jr moved closer to equaling Cristiano Ronaldo's record assist tally for the club in the UEFA Champions League against Monaco. The Brazil international produced two assists for Los Blancos as they walloped the Ligue 1 side 6-1 at the Bernabeu.
Slammed for his inconsistent performances this season, Vinicius Jr put on a show against Monaco with two assists, one each for Kylian Mbappe and Franco Mastantuano. He also witnessed his cross deflected in for an own goal by Germany International Thilo Kehrer before scoring a banger of his own in the second half.
The 25-year-old winger has now dropped 28 assists in the Champions League since his arrival at the club as a youngster. He sits only three assists behind the tally of 31 registered by Cristiano Ronaldo in his nine years at the club.
