Liverpool's boss Arne Slot has opened up on Mohamed Salah leaving the club at the end of the ongoing season. Slot has worked for two seasons so far with the Egyptian winger.

Earlier on March 24, The Reds officially announced the end of Mohamed Salah's stint of nine years at the club. During the stint, Salah cemented himself as the most valuable player of the club and won multiple titles as well.

The Reds revealed that the Egyptian forward and the club reached a mutual agreement to terminate the contract a year before it was actually supposed to expire.

In an official interview with Liverpool's official website, Arne Slot revealed the experience of working with Mohamed Salah, appreciating his contributions for the betterment of the sport. Slot also revealed that Salah's decision of leaving was not new to him, as he was already aware about it.

"I knew, so it wasn't new news to me, but I think it was very good to hear and see all the reactions of his teammates, but also from everywhere around the world, for what he has done for this football club and for football in general," said Slot.

On his experience of working with the Egyptian winger, Slot talked about Salah's work ethics and discipline, calling him the fittest player in the club.

"Then I started working with him and already the first day I was impressed by his professionalism because as with any season, it starts with a test that shows how much they did in the off-season and he beat all of them. He was the fittest player that came back, and I think that's the ideal situation that you want as a manager: that your star player comes back as fit as he did," added Slot.
