New Real Madrid Manager Xabi Alonso Sends Clear Message on Rodrygo's Future: 'We will need him'

Following the departure of Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid welcomed their new manager on Monday. In a special ceremony, Xabi Alonso was officially presented as Loc Blocos' new coach by club president Florentino Perez. He was handed the iconic white jersey and thus began a new era at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Xabi Alonso Presented as Real Madrid's New Manager

After finishing the joining formalities, Xabi Alonso appeared in front of the media and addressed all the queries related to the present and future of the club. As the summer transfer window is wide open, various developments are making waves every day. Real Madrid are also in the mix of things and so far, they have announced two incomings- Trent Alexander Arnold from Liverpool and Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth. Moreover, with Luka Modric set to exit the club after the Club World Cup, Madrid may look forward to signing a midfielder as well.

Xabi Alonso Values Rodrygo's Presence in Real Madrid Squad

Xabi Alonso stated that the Brazilian is a Real Madrid player and hinted that he is a part of his plans. 

“Rodrygo is a Real Madrid player. He is a spectacular player, and we will need him”.

Having made his debut for Real Madrid in 2018, Rodrygo emerged as one of the key contributors for the club. He has scored some of the most crucial goals for Real Madrid in the last few years, the brace against Manchester City in the Champions League semifinal of 2021/22 and goal against Chelsea in the same tournament, come out as the most notable and arguably the biggest highlights in the Royal White. At 24, Rodrygo is an asset for Real Madrid and will strengthen any squad he will walk into. Hence, Real Madrid will be at a crossroads, as one end they can fetch a huge sum by trading him away, but they would not want to lose a talent like him on the other.
