Paris Saint-Germain have handed Lionel Messi a two-week club suspension with immediate effect for an unapproved trip to Saudi Arabia with family mid-season. Messi made a tripl to Saudi Arabia after PSG lost to Lorient by 3-1 in French Ligue 1 clash. According to reports the trip was not approved by manager Christophe Galtier.

The two-week ban means that Messi will not be a part of PSG's next two games against Troyes and Ajaccio on May 8 and May 14 respectively. He is expected to take the field on May 22 when PSG take on Auxerre.
