Son expressed his gratitude to share the pitch with Lionel Messi and fortunate enough to play in the same generation.
"We are lucky to be from the same generation as Lionel Messi, to be able to follow his career and his incredible moments. He has always inspired me, and his presence here in the American league has changed my perspective and my feelings. It’s an honor to share the field with him", said Son after the match.
Son Heung-Min's instant impact at LAFC
Son was one of the biggest names after Lionel Messi to join an MLS club. Son parted ways with Tottenham Hotspur after winning the UEFA Europa League against Manchester United in the 2024-25 season.
