The result marks a classic giant-killing in the world's oldest knockout competition. Southampton, currently battling in the second tier, produced a disciplined and clinical performance against a star-studded Arsenal side.
The late winner sparked wild celebrations at St Mary's, with fans invading the pitch in joy as the Saints advanced to the last four for the first time since 2021.
Mikel Arteta’s side, who entered the match as favorites amid early-season quadruple talk, suffered their second major cup exit in quick succession after losing the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.
