Meanwhile, as he arrived in Barcelona, Rodri had a warning to his opponents. He said:
“It’s a dream to be here! We go for the Champions League and for everything.”
Rodri leaves the Etihad after seven seasons and 298 appearances, during which he helped City win four Premier League titles, the Champions League and multiple domestic cups. He arrives at Barcelona with one year remaining on his City contract and joins a squad already featuring several of his Spain teammates from the recent World Cup triumph.
The signing represents a significant midfield reinforcement for Barcelona as they look to challenge for major honours in the coming season. Rodri has been one of the best players in the World Cup this year. It remains to be seen how he contributes to the Catalan side as they look to win the UCL against the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid.
