Puneri Paltan achieved their sixth consecutive win by defeating U.P. Yoddhas 40-31 at the Noida Indoor Stadium in their Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match on Wednesday, January 4. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh showcased his defensive skills by earning 7 points, while captain Aslam Inamdar scored 11 points, keeping their team on top of the PKL standings.

The match began with an intense, high-scoring first half, where the Paltans quickly gained momentum. They not only scored rapid raid points but also managed to prevent U.P. Yoddhas' star raider Pardeep Narwal from scoring in the initial 10 minutes. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh and Aslam Inamdar's aggressive strategy proved successful, leading to the Paltan's first ALL OUT within the first five minutes, establishing a 10-4 lead.
However, this early lead served as a wake-up call for the U.P. Yoddhas. Despite Narwal's initial struggles, the team gradually made a comeback. Narwal eventually found his rhythm, scoring his first points towards the end of the half. He then demonstrated remarkable strength by single-handedly achieving an ALL OUT against the Paltan, narrowing the gap to 20-18.
The Paltan remained unfazed by the earlier challenge and maintained their original strategy and lead throughout the second half. Despite a competitive period where the U.P. Yoddhas consistently pressed them, managing to stay within a two-point range even with fewer players on the court.
A critical SUPER TACKLE in the last five minutes heightened the game's intensity, turning it into a close contest. However, the Paltan swiftly regained control, executing a second ALL OUT with just under two minutes remaining, extending their lead by seven points. In the final moments, Akash Shinde secured the victory with a SUPER RAID, concluding the match with a 40-31 win for the Paltan.
Arjun, Reza rock in Panthers' win
In another match, Jaipur Pink Panthers, led by Arjun Deshwal's outstanding raiding, triumphed over the Haryana Steelers with a score of 45-34.
For the Jaipur Pink Panthers, Arjun Deshwal was a key player, scoring 14 raid points, supported by Reza Mirbagheri with 7 tackle points and Ankush with 5 tackle points. The Haryana Steelers' standout performers were Chandran Ranjit with 11 raid points and Mohit Nandal with 5 tackle points.
Both teams had unexpected changes in their starting lineups. Haryana Steelers included raider Chandran Ranjit for his season debut, while Rahul Chaudhari was part of the Jaipur Pink Panthers team. The two experienced raiders led their respective teams from the front. Chandran made a strong start, scoring in his initial raids. However, it wasn't long before Arjun Deshwal stepped up and shifted the momentum in favor of the Jaipur Pink Panthers.
Arjun was pivotal in achieving the first ALL OUT, skillfully breaking free from Mohit's ankle hold, delivering a back-kick to Mohit Nandal, and swiftly tagging Rahul Sethpal. This put his team in the lead at 17-13 with just over four minutes remaining in the first half. Arjun also reached his Super 10 before the break, leading his team into halftime with a solid advantage.
The Haryana Steelers made a strong comeback at the start of the second half, with Mohit and Chandran bringing the team close to an ALL OUT. However, SUPER TACKLES by Lucky Sharma and Reza enabled the Jaipur Pink Panthers to keep their lead. In the 29th minute, Chandran's multi-point raid finally secured the ALL OUT, bringing the Haryana Steelers close to a turnaround, trailing by just one point at 28-29.
Arjun, last season's top raider, took out Mohit and Rahul, followed by Jaideep Dahiya and Vinay, guiding his team to another ALL OUT. With a nine-point lead and four minutes left, the Jaipur Pink Panthers had the match under control. The game concluded with Bhavani Rajput evading Jaideep's capture, securing the Jaipur Pink Panthers' fourth win in five games.
