In a game that had fans on the edge of their seats, debutant Vishal Tate emerged as the standout performer for the Steelers, racking up an impressive 15 raid points. Naveen Kundu’s defensive prowess was on full display as he achieved a High 5, contributing significantly to his team's success.

The match began with Haryana Steelers introducing several new faces into their starting seven, all of whom seized the opportunity to shine. Ghanshyam Magar's efforts saw the home team taking an early lead. The Steelers executed their strategy flawlessly, securing the first All-Out within just six minutes, an effort momentarily countered by a Super Raid from U Mumba’s Rohit Yadav.

Despite U Mumba's resilient comeback attempt, which almost saw the Steelers facing an All-Out, Vishal Tate turned the tide with two sensational Super Raids. His efforts were complemented by a crucial tackle on U Mumba captain Guman Singh, leading Haryana Steelers to an unexpected All-Out and extending their lead to 26-13 with five minutes remaining in the half. By halftime, the Steelers had doubled U Mumba's score, leading 30-15.

U Mumba started the second half with renewed vigour, as substitute Jai Bhagwan spearheaded a comeback with a series of successful raids, including a multi-point effort that secured an All-Out in the 23rd minute. Their momentum carried them through to another All-Out five minutes later, closing the gap to just three points at 35-38.

Despite U Mumba's 17-point rally compared to the Steelers’ 7 points between the 20th and 30th minutes, they could not sustain their comeback. The Haryana Steelers held their ground, clinching a six-point victory in the end.

This victory not only showcased the Haryana Steelers’ tactical acumen and fighting spirit but also highlighted the intense competition and unpredictability that define the Pro Kabaddi League, setting the stage for more thrilling encounters as the season progresses.

Gujarat Giants register win over UP Yoddhas

The Gujarat Giants secured a decisive 36-29 win against the U.P. Yoddhas in an enthralling Pro Kabaddi League match at the Tau Devilal Indoor Stadium in Panchkula on Saturday. This victory was orchestrated by the standout performances of Parteek Dahiya, who amassed 12 points, and Deepak Singh, who contributed significantly with 6 points, propelling the Giants to the fourth position on the leaderboard.

The match started on a competitive note, with both teams battling fiercely, resulting in a closely contested first quarter. The Giants initially took the lead, but the Yoddhas' resilient defense quickly neutralized their advantage, showcasing their determination and spirit despite being out of the playoff race.

As the game progressed into the second quarter, the Giants seemed to be regaining their rhythm, but a remarkable Super Tackle by Hitesh on Parteek Dahiya halted their momentum. Nonetheless, Dahiya's exceptional Super Raid shortly before halftime, which eliminated Gulveer Singh, Sumit, and Hitesh, left the Yoddhas with a single player on the mat, allowing the Giants to edge ahead with a 15-13 lead at the interval.

The Giants swiftly increased their lead at the beginning of the second half by securing an All-Out, creating a significant gap between them and the Yoddhas. Dahiya's continued excellence on the mat was instrumental in keeping the Giants' score ticking, culminating in a second All-Out that extended their lead to 31-21.

In the final quarter of the match, the Giants maintained a strategic approach, keeping the Yoddhas at bay without overly exerting themselves. Although the Yoddhas mounted a late comeback attempt, it proved insufficient, as the Giants emerged victorious, securing a crucial win in their campaign.
