Both athletes have showcased their talents and potential on multiple occasions, with Arjun Lal having a previous Olympic experience, participating in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics. Their synergy was evident when they managed a laudable finish, coming second in the preliminary men's lightweight double scull Heat 1. This win allowed them to advance to Repechage A, further amplifying India's hopes for a medal.

The duo's timing was a notable 6:27.45s, making them only slightly lag behind the Chinese team of Fan Junjie and Sun Man, who topped the heats with an impressive timing of 6:14.97s. Demonstrating their consistency and determination, Arjun and Arvind stormed the Repechage A round, finishing at the top with a clocked timing of 6:55.78s. This performance ensured their berth in Final A, joined by Japan, who finished behind the Indian pair with a time of 7:05.91s.

Recording a competitive time of 6:28.18, they secured their spot right behind China, winning the coveted silver medal for their nation. Fan Junjie and Sun Man from China maintained their lead, securing the gold with a swift timing of 6:23.16, a mere five seconds less than the Indian rowers.
