After parting ways with WWE amid ongoing investigations, Vince McMahon is reportedly turning his attention to the world of television and film production. Sources indicate that McMahon is making strategic investments in Santa Monica, California, including purchasing properties and setting up production facilities. Additionally, he's hiring public relations professionals, some of whom are former WWE staff, signaling a shift away from wrestling and toward a broader entertainment career. Notably, longtime WWE associate Kevin Dunn will not be involved in McMahon's new venture.
McMahon's Departure from WWE
Vince McMahon, the once-dominant figure behind WWE, officially severed his ties with the company in January 2024. He resigned from his role as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings, the parent company of WWE, amid ongoing federal investigations into his activities. This departure marked the end of an era for WWE, leaving McMahon’s legacy clouded by legal issues.
Despite the challenges, McMahon is reportedly planning to make a return to the entertainment industry, though not necessarily through wrestling. He is focusing on new business opportunities in television and film production, signifying a departure from his wrestling roots.
McMahon’s New Entertainment Venture
According to sources, McMahon is building a new “entertainment hub company” that will specialize in producing television and film projects. This move aligns with reports from PWInsider in late October, which confirmed McMahon’s efforts to assemble a team of former WWE employees for this venture. Among the key hires are Brad Blum and Kristen Prouty, both of whom have backgrounds in WWE’s public relations department.
Eric Bischoff, a former WCW executive, discussed McMahon’s next steps during a Wrestling Shoot Interviews episode, speculating that McMahon’s focus would be on the entertainment world rather than a WWE return. Although there have been rumors about a potential pardon or legal resolution for McMahon, Bischoff remains skeptical about McMahon's return to WWE.
"[Vince] hired [Prouty] and another woman whose name I can't remember, but she also worked in the public relations department of WWE. She got let go once TKO and WWE merged," Bischoff said.
