WWE legend will retire in 2025.

The world of professional wrestling is known for its unpredictable twists and this could be one of it.

Last month, Goldberg made a surprise return to WWE at the Bad Blood Premium Live Event after more than two years away. During the event, he had a tense confrontation with Gunther, sparking rumors that the WWE Hall of Famer might be preparing for a match against The Ring General.

On November 2, Goldberg announced that he plans to retire in 2025, which has only fueled speculation about his potential retirement match.

In a recent episode of Grilling JR, AEW broadcaster Jim Ross shared his thoughts on the possibility of Goldberg appearing at an AEW stadium show, something Ross expressed excitement about. Regarding the idea that Goldberg’s final match would take place in WWE, Ross stated that financial factors would play a significant role in where his retirement match occurs.

"It might not be. He’s a businessman through and through. He’s got a great agent. They’ll explore every opportunity and follow the cash," Ross said.

Ross and Goldberg share the same agent, and Ross emphasized that this situation presents a huge financial opportunity for everyone involved, especially if Goldberg makes a longer-term appearance on television.

“There’s a big payday there for him and our agent Barry Bloom, and it gets him restarted as far as awareness is concerned for other projects. It may be a one-off in the ring but it’s a multi-level prospect if he does it and he gets himself back on television," Ross concluded

Has Goldberg Been in Talks With AEW?

While Goldberg has previously expressed disinterest in AEW, calling the product "too cheesy," the world of professional wrestling is known for its unpredictable twists. AEW President Tony Khan later confirmed that he had been in talks with Goldberg in the past, suggesting that a potential collaboration is not entirely out of the question.

Despite speculation, Goldberg has been open in the past that he has little interest in the AEW. Earlier this year in an appearance on 93.7 The Ticket, the wrestler said, "I've talked to him [AEW President Tony Khan] a number of times throughout the past. This is where you're gonna get the most blunt answer you're gonna get from me."
