A WWE Hall of Famer recently compared his salary from the past to the earnings of top stars today, making an interesting remark about Roman Reigns' reported pay. WWE and its stars are finally enjoying its most financially successful era, breaking revenue records month after month. With massive multi-million dollar television rights deals, packed arenas, and sellout TV tapings, the company is thriving like never before. As a result, wrestlers are reaping the benefits, with many signing multi-year contracts worth millions to stay with WWE and fend off offers from rival promotions.

However, this level of financial success wasn't always the case. Back in the early '90s, WWE wasn't as financially stable as it is today. With technology less advanced and overall interest in wrestling at a low point, many top stars had to rely heavily on house shows to supplement their income. Their paychecks in that era were a fraction of what the top stars earn now.

Reflecting on this disparity, WWE legend and Hall of Famer Kevin Nash shared his thoughts on the current pay structure during an appearance on Kliq This. He mentioned seeing a list of top WWE salaries and pointed out how much Roman Reigns is earning today.

“I saw a list, and I don’t know how accurate it is or not, but it had the salaries of the top 10 salaries in the WWE, and Roman was at 15 million dollars. I was talking to Hurricane, we were going back and forth. I said, ‘F**k, Roman made more than the entire crew in ’93.’”

Reigns' massive salary is just one example of how far WWE has come in terms of financial growth. In 1993, the entire roster would not have earned close to what Reigns is reportedly paid today.

Crown Jewel defeat

Meanwhile, Roman Reigns is facing some challenges in the ring. At Crown Jewel, Reigns experienced a rare pinfall loss when Solo Sikoa secured the win for their team in a six-man tag match. With The Bloodline currently outnumbered, Reigns may be on the lookout for new allies. According to Jey Uso, we could see Reigns receive some much-needed backup soon, as he prepares for the next chapter in his storyline.
