As India celebrates its 75th anniversary of Independence, the Indian sports fraternity joined in the chorus of national celebrations and extended their warm wishes to the countrymen. Athletes, across disciplines, shared patriotic messages on their social media handles as wishes kept pouring in from all corners of the country.

 

From Team India captain Rohit Sharma to the superstar of Indian badminton PV Sindhu, from Mirabai Chanu to PR Sreejesh, all athletes shared heart-warming messages as India celebrates its 76th Independence Day.

 

During his nationwide address from the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the achievement of Indian athletes and commended India's 'stellar' performance in sports.

 

"Our stellar performances at international sporting events are an example of India's shining talent. We need to promote and support such talent," PM Modi said.
