This is not the first time when the American icon has made speculations about retiring from the sport

Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, recently suggested she might not participate in the 2028 LA Olympics, which would have been her first opportunity to compete in front of a home crowd at the Summer Games. If that happens, this year's Paris Olympics would mark her final Olympic appearance, where she helped the United States reclaim their team all-around title, which they lost to the Republic of China during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

She then went on to win three more medals, including two golds in the individual all-around and vault and a silver in the floor exercise. Well, this is not the first time the 27-year-old American icon has made speculations about retiring from the sport or not participating in the upcoming Olympics in Los Angeles.

Biles dashes hopes of making a professional appearance at the LA Olympics

In a recent conversation, the Olympian revealed that she has accomplished so much in her career that she feels there is nothing more left in the woods to explore. Biles also emphasized that she is at the point in her career where she knows where to stop and stop throwing herself at every opportunity.

"Because I've accomplished so much, there's almost nothing left to do, rather than to just be snobby and to try again and for what? I'm at a point in my career where I'm humble enough to know when to be done. If you go back, you'll be greedy. Those are the consequences. But that's also your decision to decide. What sacrifices would be made if I go back now? When you're younger, it's like, prom, college. Now it's like, starting a family, being away from my husband. What's really worth it?"

Reflecting on her achievements Biles noted that she hasn't yet realized the full magnitude of what she has achieved in the sport despite her fans and gymnastics enthusiasts dubbing her the most decorated gymnast in world history. Biles concluded by stating that she would fully comprehend her achievements in the sport only after retiring from gymnastics, adding that everything happening to her right now feels completely normal.
