Aryna Sabalenka has revealed what changes she made ahead of her Sunshine Doubles journey, which powered her to win the Indian Wells Masters title and reach the quarterfinals of the ongoing Miami Open tournament.

The World No. 1 tennis star has credited a subtle but important adjustment to her racquet for her dominant form during the 2026 Sunshine Swing. The player has dropped just one set since implementing the change, and here is what she did, which powered her to the stunning victories.

Sabalenka reveals small but ‘brave’ change she made ahead of her Sunshine Doubles journey

According to a report in the Tennis Channel, Sabalenka revealed:

“Maybe I did a small adjustment on my racket.”

The Belarusian star added:

"I was brave enough before Indian Wells to do [a] small adjustment on my racquet, and I’m super happy that I did it."

The  27-year-old, however, hesitated to reveal everything; she added that the modification has helped her gain confidence and control in vulnerable areas of her game that opponents had begun targeting.

The equipment change came after Sabalenka's disappointing loss in the 2026 Australian Open final to Elena Rybakina, where she squandered a 3-0 lead in the deciding set. Sabalenka is set to face Hailey Baptiste in the last eight of the tournament in Miami.

The five-time Grand Slam champion skipped the Middle East swing in February to regroup mentally and technically with her team, using the time to address both her approach to big finals and finer details in her setup.
