Marcos Baghdatis has acknowledged both the player’s exceptional talents and achievements so far; however, the former player predicts that Alcaraz will ultimately achieve greater heights. When asked about it, the Greek Cypriot said to Tennis365:
"It's a very tough question. "I would go with Alcaraz because he has more variety to his game, I can say.”
The 40-year-old went on to appreciate Sinner’s consistency, but still chose the Spaniard and said:
“But he's mentally maybe less consistent than Sinner, so it can backfire. But yeah, I would go with Alcaraz."
Alcaraz and Sinner have become the new generation hot rivalry in tennis. Both players need just one more major to complete the Career Grand Slam. While Alcaraz needs to win the Australian Open, Sinner needs to bag the French Open title to do so.
Meanwhile, ahead of the 2026 tennis season, the Spanish player announced his split from long-time coach Juan Carlos Ferrero after seven years to welcome new challenges and projects in the future.

The Italian has won four Grand Slam titles, and the former No. 1 player has reached all four major finals in the 2025 calendar year.
