Djokovic has had a rough season till now.

Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray have culminated their coaching partnership after just 6 months. The development has come in the wake of Djokovic's horrid run on the ATP tour. The Serb appointed the Briton as his coach back in November 2024, and the partnership showed promise in the Australian Open 2025, where Djokovic reached the semifinal stage after overcoming the challenge posed by Carlos Alcaraz.

The partnership between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray was always seen on doubtful grounds, as they had shared an intense rivalry during the peak years of their career. Them coming together and working on one mission- To make Djokovic secure 25th Grand Slam title- left the Tennis fans stoked, but the project could not remain operational beyond six months.

Here are the statements released by both that confirmed their split.

"Thanks to Novak for the unbelievable opportunity to work together and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the past six months," Murray said in a statement. "I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season."

"Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over last six months on and off the court, really enjoyed deepening our friendship together," Djokovic said.

The mutual decision to part ways has come as a huge surprise, given that the French Open is less than two weeks away. Earlier, Djokovic had confirmed that Murray would stay as his coach at least till Roland Garros, but it wasn't to be. The split might have happened due to the fact that Murray was rarely present in Djokovic's corner in the tournaments that followed the Australian Open.

So, Djokovic and Murray lifting the 25th Grand Slam title of the former will remain as an unfulfilled dream, and what they might have achieved together will go down as a big what-if.
