US Open 2026 is around the corner, and all eyes will be on Carlos Alcaraz. The former World No. 1 is listed on the official entry list for the tournament and remains on course to defend his title in New York, organisers and reports confirm.

The Spaniard, currently ranked No. 2, has not competed since suffering a right wrist injury at the Barcelona Open in April. The problem forced him to miss the French Open, Wimbledon and the Canadian Open. With the player missing two of the four Grand Slams of the year following injury, the tennis star is all set to make his return in New York.
Carlos Alcaraz set to defend US Open title
Alcaraz is the defending champion after beating Jannik Sinner in the 2025 final. The 2026 tournament runs from late August to mid-September, with the main draw scheduled to begin on 30 August at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. His name also appears on the Cincinnati Open entry list, which is widely viewed as his planned comeback event and final preparation before Flushing Meadows.
Recent training updates from Spain indicate steady progress, with Alcaraz hitting outdoors and increasing intensity under careful management of the wrist. While final confirmation of his fitness will come closer to the events, there has been no withdrawal from the US Open.
