The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings witnessed continued dominance from Poland's Iga Swiatek. Maintaining her World No.1 status, Swiatek has now impressively ruled the charts for 72 consecutive weeks since April 4, 2022. Her recent performance, reaching the semifinals in Montreal, has ensured her lead grows even more substantial. Currently, she boasts a whopping 984-point advantage over Aryna Sabalenka, the second seed.

Despite an unanticipated Round of 16 exit, Sabalenka's consistent form this year ensures she remains firmly at the second spot. Tennis analysts forecast that Swiatek's leadership is likely to extend beyond the forthcoming Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. This potentially guarantees her a top seed at the much-anticipated US Open.

In other notable rankings, Jessica Pegula, the World No.3, made significant strides by bagging the Montreal title. Pegula's exceptional form has seen her notching up 16 match victories in WTA 1000 tournaments this year – a feat mirroring Sabalenka's. Remarkably, Pegula also holds her No.3 spot in doubles. This accomplishment places her among the tennis elites, rubbing shoulders with renowned names like Barbora Krejcikova, Sabalenka, and the Williams sisters, Serena and Venus. These athletes have uniquely held top 3 rankings in both singles and doubles within a week, post the 2010 season.

Katerina Siniakova remains the force to reckon with in the doubles domain, marking her 49th consecutive week as the World No.1. With this, Siniakova aligns her achievements with tennis legend Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario, both celebrating 111 career weeks at the top. Montreal's doubles title was clinched by the duo, Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara, propelling them seven places up to rank at No.13 and No.15, respectively.

Further shifts in the rankings include Liudmila Samsonova climbing to No.12, Danielle Collins making a substantial jump to No.34, and Dayana Yastremska's ascent to No.112. Wang Xinyu, after her victory at the ITF Circuit event in Landisville, Pennsylvania, has touched her career-high No.57. Katie Boulter, bolstered by her commendable Montreal showcase, has reached a career zenith of No.60, a significant rise from her earlier No.72 position.
