Tennis legend Novak Djokovic added yet another Grand Slam title in his trophy cabinet on Monday after outclassing Daniil Medvedev in the US Open final. Riding on his stunning win Djokovic returned to no.1 ranking pipping Alcaraz from the top.

For Djokovic, securing his standing was as straightforward as clinching his initial round at the US Open, where he downed Medvedev. The Serbian maestro, now 36, did not merely stop at that. He magnificently captured his fourth US Open title this past Sunday, drawing parallels with the legendary Margaret Court by matching her unparalleled record of 24 Grand Slam victories.

Djokovic needed to win just his first-round match at the US Open to replace Carlos Alcaraz. The tennis maestro went on to win his fourth title in New York on Sunday, while also equalling Margaret Court’s all-time record of 24 Grand Slams.

The tennis landscape saw other significant shifts as well. Despite a remarkable performance against Alcaraz in the semifinals, Medvedev had to settle for third place, having been bested by Djokovic in the consequential final showdown.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev made impressive strides, advancing two positions each to rank fifth and sixth. On the other hand, the formidable Jannik Sinner found himself descending to the seventh spot.

Highlighting other notable movements, Taylor Fritz of the USA, who witnessed his US Open journey halted by Djokovic in the quarterfinals, elevated his rank to eighth. Alexander Zverev, with his commendable quarterfinals reach, made a triumphant return to the top 10, marking his first since the previous October.

Casper Ruud's unexpected second-round exit at the US Open, especially considering his runner-up position the year before, saw him dropping to ninth.

Among the young brigade, Ben Shelton enjoyed a standout moment, debuting in the top 20 at the 19th spot, courtesy of his phenomenal rise of 28 positions, post his impressive semifinal run where he ultimately fell to the might of Djokovic.

A flurry of players marked their inaugural entry into the Top-100: Thiago Seyboth Wild at 76th, Borna Gojo at 77th, Rinky Hijikata occupying the 82nd spot, and Dominic Stricker rounding it off at 90th.
