After suffering back-to-back defeats, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are poised for a big reinforcement ahead of their upcoming IPL 2026 fixture against Delhi Capitals (DC) which is slated to be played on April 11. CSK's explosive batter Dewald Brevis has dropped strong hints regarding his return to action after missing the first two clashes due to injury. Brevis has been recovering from a side strain suffered during a pre-season training session, an injury that kept him out of the opening rotation and left a noticeable void in the CSK middle order.
Dewald Brevis' return date confirmed
Head coach Stephen Fleming recently provided an optimistic update on the youngster's rehabilitation, noting that Brevis is progressing ahead of schedule. After being retained for Rs 2.20 crore following a stellar 2025 campaign—where he maintained a blistering strike rate of 180—his return is highly anticipated. Recent footage of Brevis participating in high-intensity warm-up drills suggests he is physically ready to reclaim his spot in the playing XI, likely for the April 11 clash.

Brevis himself fueled the excitement during a recent promotional event in Chennai. Appearing alongside teammates Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and Ayush Mhatre, the 22-year-old sent a direct message to the Yellow Army. When asked about his status, he confidently told fans, "See you guys on the 11th... every match, everywhere we play," effectively confirming his availability for the match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
