Virender Sehwag lavished praise on Virat Kohli.

India's World Cup-winning star Virender Sehwag lavished praise on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli ahead of their upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Mumbai Indians, which is scheduled to take place on April 7 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Kohli was recently featured in an IPL match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) where he got cheaply dismissed, scoring just seven runs in six balls before getting dismissed by Arshad Khan. Sehwag believes that a player like Kohli will not come in future who scores runs with such consistency in all formats

"Virat Kohli is the Greatest player of this Era and I don't think a player like Virat Kohli will come in the future, who scores runs with such consistency in all formats" said Sehwag on Cricbuzz.

Kohli has played three IPL matches so far, where he scored 97 runs in three outings, including an unbeaten 59 run match-winning knock against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders. During his second outing of the IPL against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) he scored 31 runs in 30 balls.

Before IPL 2025, Kohli was part of Rohit Sharma-led India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 winning squad, where the former India captain scored 218 runs in five outings with an average of 54.50. He was India's second-highest run-getter after Shreyas Iyer and overall fifth-highest run-getter. The modern-day great also holds a record of most international centuries by an active player. During the ODI World Cup 2023, he surpassed cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar in the tally of most ODI centuries.

After finishing IPL 2025, Kohli will most likely travel to England with Team India for the five-test match series, which is scheduled to start from June 20.
