LSG's Director of Cricket Tom Moody confirmed the development

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have received a massive boost in their tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav right ahead of their crucial IPL 2026 clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). LSG Director of Cricket Tom Moody has provided a key fitness update regarding the availability of pace duo Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan. This news comes just ahead of the team's high-stakes encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium this Wednesday, April 15.

Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan available for selection ahead of LSG vs RCB clash

The two bowlers have faced different paths to recovery this season. Mohsin Khan has been dealing with leg stiffness following the team’s fixture against the Delhi Capitals on April 1, while the young sensation Mayank Yadav is yet to make his season debut due to lingering fitness issues. During a pre-match press conference, Moody acknowledged that both athletes have been managing long-term injuries, but he was quick to credit the LSG medical staff for their intensive efforts in rehabilitating the pair.

While both players are officially back in contention for the 23rd match of the tournament, their participation remains subject to final checks. Moody clarified that although they are available for selection, Mohsin Khan will be required to pass a final fitness test on the day of the match to ensure he is fully ready for the rigors of the Chinnaswamy track.

"The likes of Mayank, Mohsin [Khan] and Avesh have all had long-term injuries. Our medical team has worked exceptionally hard to get them ready. They're all available now. Mohsin will probably have a final test on match day," Moody said at the pre-match press conference.

Mayank is ready to go: Tom Moody

Moody further clarified the reasons behind Mayank Yadav's absence from the starting lineup during the early stages of the season. His comments come at a pivotal time for the Lucknow Super Giants, who currently sit in seventh place on the IPL 2026 points table. With two wins and two losses from their four matches, the team is looking to improve upon their standing and a net run rate of -0.427.

The Super Giants are particularly focused on regaining their momentum after a recent setback. They enter their next fixture looking to bounce back from a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of the Gujarat Titans on April 12.

"Mayank is ready to go. He didn't come into our thinking early in the tournament because he was still a little underdone. Not from a fitness point of view—his fitness was good—but in terms of bowling loads and feeling comfortable at the crease," Moody concluded.
