The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has rewarded the Barsapara Cricket Stadium's groundsmen and pitch curators with Rs 25 lakh for their wonderful work in keeping IPL 2026 games on track despite adverse weather conditions.

The Barsapara Cricket Stadium hosted three games for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season and all of them were impacted by the rain, yet all three ended with results, with RR securing win in all of them.

The game against Mumbai Indians was reduced to a truncated 11-overs-a-side, where RR emerged winners by 27 runs.

The ACA shared an official statement, appreciating the efforts put in by the groundsmen and curators to ensure that pitches were maintained properly despite challenging weather conditions.

"Working under challenging weather conditions, the curator and groundsmen ensured that the pitches were prepared and maintained to the highest standards. Their efforts were central to the smooth conduct of the matches and helped uphold the venue’s growing reputation on the national stage," the ACA said in a statement.

In the IPL 2026 season, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has managed to score 200 runs for Rajasthan Royals in just four games at an amazing strike rate of 266.67. Kicking off the campaign with a 15-ball half-century against Chennai Super Kings in their campaign opener, followed with two rapid knocks of 31 off and 39 off 14 against Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians respectively.

After his player-of-the-match innings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, He holds the Orange Cap with 200 runs so far in the tournament, closely followed by teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal with 183 runs.

Rajasthan Royals' solid performance in IPL 2026

Rajasthan Royals have kicked off the IPL 2026 season in dominant fashion, winning their first four consecutive games to sit at the top of the points table with eight points in hand and a high NRR of +2.055. The Riyan Parag-led side will lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next game on Monday, April 13 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It will be interesting to see if the Royals can continue their winning streak against the Sunrisers.
