Bollywood icon and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) Shah Rukh Khan, injected an electrifying energy into the IPL 2025 opening ceremony. He orchestrated a memorable moment by bringing together cricket legends and rising stars, notably getting Virat Kohli and Rinku Singh to dance on stage. This spectacle occurred at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, just before the highly anticipated tournament opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and KKR.
Virat Kohli left in stitches after Rinku Singh's funny dance with Shah Rukh Khan
The IPL 2025 opening ceremony, masterfully hosted by Shah Rukh Khan, was a grand fusion of cricket fervor, musical performances, and vibrant entertainment. It effectively set the tone for the IPL 2025 season. The event boasted a star-studded lineup featuring the melodious Shreya Ghoshal and the captivating Disha Patani.
But the highlight of the show was when Shah Rukh Khan, with his characteristic charisma, invited Virat Kohli onto the stage. The Bollywood superstar's chants of 'Kohli, Kohli' playfully embarrassed the RCB batter, creating a lighthearted and memorable moment. Following a brief exchange, Shah Rukh then extended an invitation to KKR's Rinku Singh to join them.
Shah Rukh's inclusive gesture, "Don't feel left out. And if you wish, you can join us," preceded an impromptu dance session with Rinku. This unexpected performance sent Kohli into fits of laughter as he watched Shah Rukh and Rinku groove to a popular song from the film 'Dunki' 'Lut Put Gaya'.
The energy in the packed Eden Gardens reached a fever pitch when Kohli himself joined the dance floor. Upon Shah Rukh's request, Kohli enthusiastically performed the iconic steps to the title track of the blockbuster movie "Pathaan," "Jhoome jo Pathaan." Kohli's willing participation, complete with a broad smile, and his ability to keep pace with Shah Rukh, made for an unforgettable spectacle.
