Punjab Kings (PBKS) remain unbeaten in IPL 2026 after securing a commanding victory against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Sunday, April 19 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. PBKS' rising young opener Priyansh Arya received Player-of-the-Match award for his astonishing knock of 93 runs off 37 balls, which led his side reaching a mammoth total of 254 at the end of the first innings.
After the game, LSG's owner Sanjiv Goenka, who is infamous for having on-field chats with his team captains or players, was seen having a heartwarming chat with Punjab's Priyansh Arya. On the other hand, the LSG skipper Rishabh Pant was spotted having a discussion with PBKS owner Preity Zinta along with Yuzvendra Chahal and Shashank Singh.
Astonishing batting performance from PBKS
Batting first PBSK rode rollicking knocks from Priyansh Arya (93) and Cooper Connolly (87) to post a mammoth total of 245/7. This mammoth total turned out to be the highest so far in the ongoing IPL 2026. Strong individual performances from Priyansh and Cooper dismantled LSG's bowling lineup which turned the momentum in PBKS' favor for the rest of the game.

The left-handed batting duo stitched a 182-run stand before Prince Yadav removed Cooper Connoly in the 14th over, while Priyansh Arya was later dismissed by Manimaran Siddharth after scoring 93 off 37, with Connolly contributing 87 off 46.
Priyansh Arya's wonderful form in IPL 2026
Priyansh Arya has managed to continue his red-hot form in IPL 2026 as well, scoring 211 runs in just five innings at strike rate of 240, with an amazing 93 off 37 against LSG. The young left-handed batter is averaging 42.20, with the help of 20 sixes and 14 fours in the ongoing season.

Punjab Kings will lock horns with Axar Patel-led Delhi Capitals in their upcoming game in IPL 2026 on Saturday, April 25 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Currently, the Shreyas Iyer-led side stand at top of the table with 11 points in hand after six games in the tournament at a net run rate of +1.420.
