Delhi Capitals' underwhelming campaign in IPL 2026

Delhi Capitals kicked off the 2026 season on a flying note, with two straight wins over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Somehow, their momentum got derailed after they lost to Gujarat Titans (GT) in a high-scoring encounter, where a calculation mistake from David Miller cost the match. The loss against GT, turned out to be a nightmare for the Axar Patel-led side, as they never recovered from it.

After the game against GT, Dc failed to maintain consistency and endured a terrible run, losing five of their next six matches to tumble down the points table. Although the Delhi-based side reignited hopes with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR), back-to-back losses against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) virtually finished their playoff hopes. However, they finished the league phase on a strong note with three straight wins.
