Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) captain Virat Kohli left his fans worried during an Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. While batting, Kohli asked RR captain Sanju Samson to check his heartbeat after smashing his 100th half-century in T20.
Kohli who was playing in tough batting conditions, opted to take a physically intensive approach during his fifty. In his knock, the star batter has a total of 24 singles, alongside three doubles as well as four boundaries and two maximums. The incident happened when Kohli was playing on 54 runs and a video of RCB legend is going viral where he can be seen chatting with Samson and asking him to check his heartbeat. Here is the clip.
Coming back to the clash, Kohli again proved why he is a chasemaster by scripting another win for RCB. Kohli got to a slow start of the chase with Phil Salt taking on bowlers, showing no mercy as he scored 65 runs off 33 balls. On the other hand, Kohli played a match-winning unbeaten 62 run knock that helped RCB to register their fourth victory of the tournament.
After smashing the fifth against RR, Kohli became the second player and the first Indian to attain the 100-fifty milestone. The other player to reach 100 fifties in T20 cricket is David Warner, who is currently featuring in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), representing the Karachi Kings. Warner reached this milestone during West Indies vs Australia T20I series at Bellerive Oval in Hobart.
Players with the most fifties in T20s
David Warner - 108
Virat Kohli - 100
Babar Azam - 90
Chris Gayle - 88
Jos Buttler - 86
However, Kumar Kartikeya picked his wicket, but that was too late for the Royals and Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal saw the chase through to the end, with the latter scoring a quick knock of 40.
After winning the clash against RR, RCB are currently on third in the points table tally. The Bengaluru-based franchise has won four matches out of their six outings. RCB will now face Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 18 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru
