Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took an indirect dig at five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. IPL 2025 is scheduled to start from March 22 where defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face RCB in the tournament's opener at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rajat Patidar will lead RCB in IPL 2025 as the franchise released their previous captain Faf du Plessis before the mega auction for the marquee event. After RCB appointed their new captain former captains like Virat Kohli and Faf congratulated Rajat for his new role and it was a smooth transition.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 opener clash, RCB shared a video where their iconic Mr. Wags can be seen interviewing skipper Rajat. He asked Rajat don't you think all other teams also should have followed a similar strategy while announcing captaincy?

Rajat answered sorry I don't know, but MR Wags took MI's name saying "Rajat said Mei Nahi Janta 'MI'".

"So, Rajat, you became captain, all former captains of RCB skippers have given you their approval. Like Virat messaged you, Faf messaged you. Do you think other teams also should have followed a similar strategy while announcing captaincy?" asked Mr Wags to Rajat Patidar.

"I'm sorry, I never followed What's going on and what's not going on" Rajat Patidar responded.

"Oh, so innocent, Rajat. You really don't know. Really, I don't know. Then why are you smiling?  See, basically, he said MI nahi janta 'MI' " said Mr Wags.

Five-time champions MI faced a lot of criticism during the last edition of the IPL as Hardik Pandya replaced Rohit Sharma to lead the franchise. Mumbai-based franchise's fans also slammed and booed Hardik during the last edition of the cash-rich league for replacing Rohit.

In the IPL 2025, MI and RCB will face each other on April 7 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Bangalore and Mumbai have faced each other in 33 matches in IPL. Out of these 33 games, Bangalore have won 14 whereas Mumbai have come out victorious on 19 occasions.
