Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a commanding win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets in their IPL 2026 clash on Wednesday, April 13 at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. However, the big thing was Virat Kohli coming back in form after two consecutive ducks in the competition.

The star opener smashed his 9th hundred in the competition, his stunning knock off 105 off 60 made RCB seal the game and take one step closer towards the playoff qualification. However, after Virat's masterclass earned him praise from KKR mentor and IPL legend Dwayne Bravo.

In a video shared by RCB's official social media handle, the KKR mentor hugged Virat and asked him to play as long as he can in. The conversation between two IPL greats displayed the mutual respect and admiration towards each other.

Virat Kohli's strong season with the bat for RCB

The 37-year-old batter is having a great time in the ongoing IPL 2026 season for defending champions RCB, trying his level best to help the side retain the title. After playing 12 matches, Virat Kohli has amassed 484 runs at an amazing average of 53.78 with an aggressive strike rate of 165.75.

The right-handed batter has smashed one century and three half centuries in the tournament, with the help of 53 boundaries and 18 sixes.

Next stop for Royal Challengers Bengaluru

After claiming win over KKR, the Rajat Patidar-led side will prepare to face Shreyas Iyer's Punjab Kings in their upcoming IPL 2026 game. It is going to be an away game, as it will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in Dharamshala. 

Currently, RCB sit at the top of the standings with 16 points in hand after playing 12 matches (8 wins and 4 losses) in the tournament, at a net run rate of +1.053.
