Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Robin Uthappa lauds MS Dhoni for his wicketkeeping skills despite getting old. Dhoni is arguably the best captain to lead India and a team in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). MS Dhoni-led CSK won the five IPL titles which is joint most by any team in the history of the tournament.

Dhoni is currently preparing for the upcoming edition of the tournament which is scheduled to start from March 22. During CSK's practice session, the wicketkeeper batter was seen smashing the bowlers ahead of the tournament.

"As far as Mahi is concerned, I think we will get to see glimpses of his brilliance because I have a feeling that he might bat at number 7 or number 8. Very much like last year, and we will see him bat between 12 and 20 balls through the season," said Uthappa.

While asked about whether Dhoni is featuring in the cash-rich league for the last time, Uthappa wasn't ready to predict the future of star wicketkeeper batter.

"I don't think the passion ever dies. MS' love for the game has not dwindled at all. I think his passion for the game keeps him going. At 43, I think he's got the fastest hands in the world as a wicketkeeper.

"And if you've got those skills and if you've got the passion to keep going. I don't think anything should stop you. I won't be surprised if he retires at the end of the season. But I won't be surprised if he even goes on to play for another four seasons after this," said Uthappa, the JioStar expert, while addressing the media prior to the 18th edition of IPL.

IPL 2025 is scheduled to start from March 22 where defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the tournament's opener. MS Dhoni's CSK will start their IPL 2025 campaign against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 23 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
