India's World Cup-winning spinner Harbhajan Singh who is currently involved in Legends League Cricket reckoned that if players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli feature in domestic cricket then this will boost the morale of other players who are playing with them. Both Rohit and Kohli last featured in the ODI series against Sri Lanka where the Men in Blue lost the series 2-0. Now, as The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the squad for the Duleep Trophy 2024 both Rohit and Virat rested to prepare for the upcoming Test schedule.
In the exclusive conversation with Sports Tak, Harbhajan Singh said that players like Virat and Rohit can make any tournament better.
“It would be great if they (Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah) play in the Duleep Trophy 2024. When a big player features in these tournaments, it motivates other players who are playing alongside them. These players can make it better (Char Chand lag jayenge). However, it's their call whether to play or not. I hope that they will feature in domestic cricket” said Harbhajan Singh on Sports Tak.
Both Rohit and Kohli have already announced their retirement from T20Is after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 defeating South Africa in the final. Now both cricketers will feature in the upcoming two Test match series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19.
