India hard-hitting batter Suryakumar Yadav''s wife Devisha Shetty shared an emotional post after her husband was appointed as T20I captain for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka. Hardik Pandya was supposed to lead India because he was Rohit Sharma's deputy in the T20 World Cup 2024, ODI World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2022 but Suryakumar Yadav was announced to lead India after Rohit retired from the shortest format of the game.
Devisha who is often seen supporting her husband Suryakumar took her Instagram and posted that this is just the beginning of your legacy.
“When you started playing for india, we never imagined this day would come! But god is great and everyone gets the reward of their hard work and diligence in due time So proud of you and how far you've come but this is just the beginning of your own legacy, long way to go” wrote Devisha Shetty in her Instagram story.
Suryakumar Yadav captained India in the T20I series against Australia in 2023 when Hardik was on the road to recovery from his ODI World Cup 2023 injury.
