South Africa’s wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock scored his T20 career’s 10th century. De Kock became the first South African to achieve the feat. He shares the third spot in list of most T20 centuries with India's Virat Kohli and Australia's David Warner. Barbados Tridents’ top-order batter De Kock achieved the feat for in a losing cause against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 match.

There are two batters who are ahead of De Kock in the list of most T20 centuries (including T20Is, domestic T20s and T20 franchise cricket). Pakistan's Babar Azam has 13 T20 tons whereas T20 legend, former West Indies opener Chris Gayle has 22 tons in the format.

De Kock makes early reprieve count

De Kock walked in to bat at no.3 after Brandon King was dismissed for a single-digit score by Jason Holder. De Kock's catch was dropped in the fourth over by Alick Athanaze in the fourth over when he was batting on 18. He and Zachary Carter went on a six-hitting spree. Carter scored his maiden CPL fifty from 30 balls. De Kock reached 50 runs from 31 deliveries in the 12th over. The partnership was broken by Wanindu Hasaranga in the 13th over. Hasaranga scored 57 runs from 36 runs.

De Kock continued to wreak havoc. He reached his ton from 54 deliveries with a boundary off Holder in the 18th over. In the penultimate over, a stunning acrobatic catch by Navin Bidaisee led to De Kock's departure. He hit 11 fours and six sixes in his 57-ball 106. Barbados Tridents went on to post 217/4 on the board.

In a six-fest, Johnson Charles' 45-ball 78, cameos from Dasun Shanaka, Holder, Andrew Fletcher and Hasaranga helped Patriots chase down the target with six wickets in hand and five balls to spare. This was Barbados Tridents' third loss of the season. They are at the bottom of the points table.

De Kock’s CPL feats

De Kock became the third overseas batter after former teammate Faf du Plessis and New Zealand's Tim Seifert to score two centuries. The southpaw also completed his 1,000 runs in CPL. He has 1,095 runs from 33 innings at an average of 37.75 and strike rate of 145.22. Apart from two tons, he has six fifties in CPL. He is sixth overseas batter to achieve the feat in CPL.
