In a series of big events, Dewald Brevis lit up Lord's with a stunning display of power-hitting during London's Spirit's seven-wicket win against Birmingham Phoenix on August 9, Sunday. The star South African batter surprised everyone with an outrageous 97-metre no-look maximum while scoring an unbeaten 55 from 31 deliveries, his first half-century in The Hundred.

While chasing 163 after Phoenix posted a target of 162/4 in the first innings, Spirit raced to 166 for three in only 82 balls, wrapping up the game with 18 balls in hand.

Strong partnership between Livingston and Brevis
In the second innings, Jonny Bairstow's dismissal for a quick 10 off three balls did little to slow London Spirit's chase, as Brevis and skipper Liam Livingstone took complete control of proceedings. The pair contributed a total of 103 runs together, setting a new record for the franchise's highest stand for any wicket in The Hundred.
Livingstone was playing aggressively, racing to his half-century in only 21 balls before finishing with a 66from 30 deliveries. His power-hitting display also included a huge 104-metre six.
Strong bowling performance from London spirit
Earlier, London Spirit's bowlers played their part in restricting Birmingham Phoenix to 162/4. Adam Milne recorded an early breakthrough and returned figures of 1/36, while James Coles and Mason Crane kept things under control with their brilliant spin bowling during the middle overs. For Phoenix, Usman Tariq stood out with the ball despite the loss, dropping an economical spell giving away only 13 runs from his 20 deliveries.
