In a surprising turn of events, President Donald Trump will be hosting Kansas City Chiefs at the White House, an opportunity they were denied due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

Donald Trump to host Kansas City Chiefs at the White House

The Chiefs, who secured the Super Bowl LIV victory against the San Francisco 49ers in 2020, never got the chance of their customary White House visit due to lockdown and travel restrictions which were shortly implemented after the victory.

The invitation was confirmed by the POTUS himself during a conversation with OutKick founder Clay Travis aboard Air Force One. Not just this, the Super Bowl LIX winners, Philadelphia Eagles will also be present at the White House but Trump will host them in separate visits. Trump became the first president to have ever witnessed a Super Bowl game live as he was present during the Eagles victory over the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

I look forward to having the Eagles, and one other thing, we're going to have the Kansas City Chiefs after that because they missed their turn because of COVID, Trump stated, acknowledging the Chiefs' missed opportunity due to the pandemic.

This gesture from the White House comes as a surprise to many, particularly given the Chiefs' previous cancellation. While many players from the 2020 roster have left the team, the invitation present a moment of recognition for their Super Bowl LIV victory.

Travis Kelce, who is dating Taylor Swift as she is known for her outspoken remarks on Trump's policies and political views. She has criticized Trump's administration in the past and has been an advocate for various social and political causes. On top of it, Harrison Butker even visited the White House on a solo trip after the team lost the Super Bowl LIX to the Eagles.

Trump addresses Eagles' 2018 visit controversy

During the conversation, Trump even addressed the controversy which included Eagles non-visit to the White House after winning the Super Bowl LII back in 2018.

Well, actually, (the Eagles) did want to come, Trump explained. A lot of people wanted to come, including the coach (Doug Pederson)-terrific guy, by the way-the general manager (Howie Roseman) wanted to come. The owner (Jeffrey Lurie) wanted to come. A lot of people wanted to come. Some of the players wanted to come. And I just said, 'Just forget it,' right?

While Trump is now making amends for the Chiefs' missed visit, the White House meeting would be an intriguing occasion.
