After a standout rookie year that saw her crowned the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is gearing up for her sophomore season—while making sure she stays grounded off the court. At just 23 years old, Clark appears to have already struck an impressive balance between her professional ambitions and personal happiness.
A Memorable First Playoff Run
As Caitlin Clark, 22, of Indiana Fever, speaks during a press conference after recently losing to Connecticut Sun during Game Two of the first round of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs, 81-87 at Mohegan Sun Arena on September 25, 2024, in Uncasville, Connecticut.
In chasing greatness on the court—recently stating her pick for the G.O.A.T.—Clark is taking time to celebrate life milestones other than the game.
Celebrating Two Years With Connor McCaffery
On Thursday night, Clark took the opportunity to share "a big moment in my life," her two-year anniversary with boyfriend Connor McCaffery. The couple embraced in a pair of black-and-white shots that Clark posted to Instagram along with the caption, "Another year with my favorite person :) I'm so thankful for you," along with two heart emojis.
The current assistant coach for Butler University men's basketball team in Indianapolis, McCaffery returned the favor by adding a heart emoji on her post, which was quickly inundated by likes from fans.
A Relationship Built on Basketball
Not going to be outdone, McCaffery honored the occasion with a heartfelt post of his own. The couple expressed intertwined hands from behind in another black-and-white photo shared by the basketball star, simply captioned: "2 years ♾️ keep being u 🖤."
Clark responded to his tribute just as lovingly, commenting: “Love you 💓.”
The pair’s love story began back in April 2023, during their time together at the University of Iowa, where both were standout athletes. While Clark’s career has soared since graduating, McCaffery transitioned to coaching, initially joining the Indiana Pacers’ staff before accepting a role at Butler later in 2024.
Keeping It Real Amid Rising Stardom
As Clark continues her rapid ascent in the WNBA, she remains committed to maintaining a sense of normalcy and nurturing the relationships that matter most. Balancing the pressures of professional basketball with her personal life, Clark shows that even amid stardom, staying true to oneself—and to the people who support you—is what makes the journey truly special.
