Less than a month after NFL Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes' and Travis Kelce's home getting target, Bobby Portis, Milwaukee Bucks forward is reaching out for help after becoming the latest target in a series of high-profile robberies aimed at professional athletes. Portis revealed that his River Hills, Wisconsin home was burglarized on November 2 while he was playing in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He’s offering a $40,000 cash reward for any tips leading to the recovery of his stolen possessions.

In an emotional video posted on his Instagram and X accounts, Portis shared his deep connection to Milwaukee. Over the last four-and-a-half seasons, I’ve considered Milwaukee as a home, I’ve grown here, I come here a boy and elevated into a man. While I was at the game yesterday, we had a home invasion and they took most of my prized possessions," Portis explained.

Surveillance Footage Shows Robbery in Progress
Portis also shared footage from his home’s security cameras, showing two men outside his residence, with one intruder’s voice audible on the video. The Bucks star’s post aimed to bring attention to the crime and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

A Rising Trend: Athlete Robberies Continue
Portis’ burglary is part of a disturbing trend targeting professional athletes. In September, Minnesota Timberwolves star Mike Conley’s home was burglarized while he attended a Vikings game. Jewelry was stolen, and multiple break-ins were reported in the area that day.

Mahomes and Kelce Also Victims of Recent Break-Ins
This string of robberies has also hit NFL stars. In early October, Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had their homes broken into within a 48-hour span. Mahomes' Belton, Missouri estate was burglarized on October 6, and Kelce’s Leawood, Kansas residence was targeted the following day, with $20,000 worth of items stolen.

Authorities are investigating whether the recent robberies targeting athletes are connected. While FBI officials have not commented on their involvement, local police departments in Medina, Minnesota, and other jurisdictions are working together to determine if there is a connection across state lines. For now, Portis and other athletes remain hopeful that justice will be served, and that their stolen items will be returned. Portis’ $40K reward is a step towards recovery, as he continues to lean on his fans and the public for assistance.
