Story Highlights:

LeBron will wear the patch for the entire season from now on to celebrate his record-setting 23rd NBA season

Kings have now won back-to-back games for the first time since November

LeBron James took the court on Monday in the city where his career began in 2003, while his Los Angeles Lakers jersey looked a little different. The NBA icon has entered a historic 23rd season in the league, and the Lakers forward debuted in a jersey that had a patch affixed to the upper right chest.

LeBron will wear the patch for the entire season from now on to celebrate his record-setting 23rd NBA season; however, the Lakers lost the game with a score of 112-124 to the Kings, and the winners believe that this was not the right day to commemorate the occasion.

After defeating the 17-time NBA Champions, the Kings took over their social media account to take a hilarious jab at the occasion. The Kings posted:

“bad day to be a jersey patch debut.”

Following the victory at the Golden 1 Center on Monday, the Kings have now won back-to-back games for the first time since November. They were led by DeMar DeRozan, who scored 32 points on 14-of-19 shooting.

Meanwhile, LeBron will wear the patch throughout the remaining 46 games of the regular season. This will feature a silhouette of his pregame chalk toss and three colored stripes whiuch will represent all the franchises he has played for, including the Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
