India are facing Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia CUp 2023.

India's head coach Rahul Dravid expressed satisfaction over the team's performance in the Asia Cup 2023, suggesting that they are well-prepared for the upcoming ODI World Cup at home. Despite concerns about the weather and limited game time, Dravid believes the team has managed to get valuable practice during the tournament.

In a chat with Star Sports before the final against Sri Lanka in Colombo, Dravid emphasised the significance of their win against the six-time champions in the Super 4s. "I thought our effort against Sri Lanka was even better. Sometimes, you can play the perfect game and win those games. But, sometimes, to not be at your best and still be able to scrap out a win, fight for a win," Dravid remarked.

This statement came after India's impressive 228-run victory over arch-rivals Pakistan. However, the match against Sri Lanka was a tougher challenge. The Indian team was restricted to a score of 213, largely due to the exceptional bowling of Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage and Charith Asalanka. Wellalage, a promising talent in Sri Lankan cricket, took out five of India's top-order, while Asalanka dealt with the lower-order.

Despite this, India showcased their mettle. Axar Patel's batting efforts against the Sri Lankan spinners were commendable. The Indian pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohd. Siraj, also made their presence felt, taking three early wickets. However, the standout performance came from Kuldeep Yadav, whose four-wicket haul was pivotal in defending the modest total. Ravindra Jadeja also played a crucial role, taking out key Sri Lankan batsmen.

India did face a setback in their final Super 4s match against Bangladesh, failing to chase down a target of 266. Yet, the return to form of KL Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah post-injury has been a silver lining. Additionally, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli have been in splendid form, with Kohli scoring a century against Pakistan.

Dravid concluded with optimism, "If we can get the right result today, it will be a good campaign. Hopefully, if we get on the right side of the result, it will be a lot of boxes ticked for us."
