Mitchell Starc continued his stellar performance with the ball on March 19 (Sunday) and demolished India's famed batting line-up in the second ODI at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. After bagging four wickets in a losing cause in Mumbai, the left-arm paceman bagged a fantastic five-wicket haul in the second ODI and emerged as the protagonist behind the Baggy Greens' resounding 10-wicket victory with 234 balls to spare.

Starc was the star with the ball as he finished with figures of 5/53 in eight overs, including a maiden over. Sean Abbott (three wickets) and Nathan Ellis (two wickets) gave Starc the perfect support.

The Aussie spearhead reflected on his role in the current Australian white-ball team and highlighted that as long as he picks wickets in abundance, the number of runs leaked in the process takes care of itself.

"I have learnt the trade over the years. My rhythm has been good for a few weeks now. Last couple of nights, I got the ball to shape in the air and do a little bit off the wicket. Feeling in a good place, hopefully I can continue. It's a role I play, being more attacking and bowling slightly fuller than some of the other guys. I can be slightly more expensive, but that brings in all the dismissals more, that's the role I play," Starc told the host broadcaster after receiving the Man of the Match award.

The left-arm pacer got the ball to swing into the right-handed batters which made Indian willow-wielders look like greenhorns. Shubman Gill (two-ball duck), Rohit (13 runs off 15 balls, Suryakumar Yadav (golden duck) and KL Rahul (nine runs off 12 balls) all fell prey to Starc's magic as India were reduced to 49/4 in just nine overs.

Starc also touched on the assistance on offer for seamers in both the first and the second ODI of the series.

"Both the decks have helped the seamers. There was movement in the air in Mumbai as well. My game plan is to attack the stumps and bring in all modes of dismissal into play." the Aussie spearhead added.
