India got the better of New Zealand by 4 wickets to win Champions Trophy 2025 title

India captain Rohit Sharma put on a show with the bat to guide Men in Blue team to four-wicket win over New Zealand in the final to win the Champions Trophy 2025 title. While chasing a challenging 252-run target, India survived some late-game tension to finally get past the finishing line. Rohit's composed knock of 76 runs off 83 balls set the tone for India's chase. Although the chase tightened towards the end, India's composure prevailed, resulting in a triumphant finish at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Rohit Sharma's crucial contribution earned him the Player of the Match award.

"I want to appreciate everyone who came out and supported us. The crowd here has been magnificent, it is not our home ground but they made our home ground. The number of people that came here to watch us play, to give them that win was satsifying," Rohit said in the post-match presentation.

Rohit's aggressive innings coupled with India's sensational spin bowling propelled India to a historic third Champions Trophy title. India's run chase began with a bang, fueled by their captain's first half-century of the tournament. KL Rahul's steady unbeaten 34 runs further ensured India finish the game with six balls to spare.

This win added to India's previous Champions Trophy triumphs in 2002 and 2013, surpassing Australia's record of two titles. India, the top-ranked ODI team globally, completed the eight-nation tournament, held across Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, without suffering a single defeat.
