The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has delayed the Champions Trophy 2025 squad announcement which will be announced in Mumbai followed by a press conference. The presser was scheduled to start from 12. AM IST but there is a delay from the Indian Cricket Board in the announcement of the 15-member squad that will represent the side in the mega event.
As per our sources from the BCCI office Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar are currently doing a selection meeting and they will announce the squad after that.
Rohit and Agarkar have to take some tough calls and one of them will be taking speedsters as Jasprit Bumrah recently faced back issues and on the other hand Mohammed Shami's fitness. The speedster is out of international cricket since ODI World Cup 2023 final on November 19.
Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start from February 19. The matches of the mega event will take place in Pakistan and Dubai where defending champions Pakistan will play their opener clash against New Zealand in Lahore. Team India will play all their matches in Dubai including high voltage clash between India and Pakistan.
Team India will play their Champions Trophy 2025 opener clash against Bangladesh on February 20 at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Apart from India matches Dubai will host one of the semifinals and the venue for the final also depends on India's performance.
If India qualifies for final it will take place in Dubai otherwise Lahore will host the tournament's title decider on March 9.
