Rohit Sharma speaks on India's winning strategy in Champions Trophy

Meanwhile, during the pre-match press conference Rohit Sharma talked about India's winning strategy for Champions Trophy. Rohit did mention that winning trophy is of course in his mind but he clearly said that Men in Blue will take one game at a time.

"Champions Trophy is happening after almost 8 years. Every ICC title is important and it's no different here. You come here thinking about winning the trophy but our goal is to win a game at a time and keep moving forward," Rohit said in the pre-match press conference on February 19.

India missed their shot at the title in the Champions Trophy 2017 when they lost the final to Pakistan. However, the 2013 Champions Trophy title winner will have a chance to avenge their final loss against Pakistan in the ongoing eight-team tournament. The highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan is scheduled for February 23.

But Rohit's brigade isn't taking any extra added pressure in the Champions Trophy as the skipper said they are going to play this tournament as any other tournament.

"We will play this tournament as any other that we play for India," Rohit added.

India will enter the tournament with a high as they recently whitewashed England 3-0 in the three-match ODI series. On being asked about whether Dubai conditions will pose any challenge to Team India, Rohit said every venue has a different challenge and Dubai will be no different.

"We ticked the relevant boxes in the England series. We bowled them out for less than the par score. We do understand every series and venue has a different challenge. Dubai will be no different," Hitman further stated.

"Need to assess the pitch as quickly as possible. We've played a lot of cricket here so as a batter I try to do that and then let your batsmanship take over," he concluded.
