The International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman Jay Shah announced on social media the launch of their awareness initiative ‘Donate Organs, Save Lives’ during the third ODI between India vs England which is scheduled to take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shah took to his official handle to make the announcement, while also talking about sport's power to "inspire, unite, and create lasting impact beyond the field." He urged everyone to make a step towards giving a "gift of life" to those in need and to "make a difference".
After Jay Shah's social media post, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video featuring Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya and the rest of the squad on their 'X' formerly known as Twitter to promote Jay Shah's initiative.
"Score the ultimate century. Your organs can help others live beyond your lifetime. Register as a donor and make every life count" said Virat Kohli
Be the captain of life. Just like a captain leads the team to victory, you can lead someone to life by pledging to donate your organs said India ODI vice-captain Shubman Gill.
