Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has postponed the remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 after Dubai rejected Pakistan's request to host the tournament in the United Arab Emirates amid India-Pakistan border tensions. PCB's decision to postpone the PSL 2025 came just hours after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) suspended the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a week.
PCB shared a release where they announced that the PSL 2025 has been postponed amid a war-like situation between India and Pakistan.
"The decision to postpone has been taken pursuant to advice received from the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif," the PCB said in a statement.
Earlier, News agency PTI quoted that a well-placed source within the ECB revealed that the board is "unlikely to approve" the PCB’s request to host the remaining PSL fixtures. The reason: the board is wary of being perceived as aligning with Pakistan during a period of heightened border conflict with India. The source pointed to “security concerns potentially emanating from the rising tension between India and Pakistan.”

Earlier on Thursday, PCB rescheduled the match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi in Rawalpindi after Indian military strikes in the country in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.
British media also reported that English players who are part of PSL 2025 were considering leaving it due to security concerns. This comes in after the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' to attack terrorism. Indian Armed Forces launched precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), including the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. India's 'Operation Sindoor' was in response to the attack in Pahalgam in which 26 people, mostly tourists, were gunned down.
