Mohammed Shami's A game was once again on display as he ran riot with his roaring to help India obliterate Sri Lanka by 302 runs in their World Cup match in Mumbai's Wankhede stadium on November 2, Thursday.
Riding on his match-winning fifer Shami scripted a sensational record as he became Team India's highest wicket-taker in the ODI World Cup history.

Shami shattered Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath's records of 44 wickets as he went one above them with 45 scalps in the showpiece event.
Not just this Shami also made it to the top 10 list list of most wicket-takers in the World Cup history which is led by Glenn McGrath with 71 wickets.
Mitchell Starc and Trent Boult are the only active bowlers who have more World Cup wickets than Shami. While Starc has 56 scalps, Boult has 49 respectively.
Shami recorded his second fifer of the ongoing World Cup as the previous one came against New Zealand in Dharamsala, which India won comprehensively. Shami snared the wickets of Charith Asalanka, Dushan Hemantha, Angelo Mathews, Dushmantha Chameera and Kasun Rajitha to notch the feat as Sri Lanka were bundled out for 55 as India registered a massive 302-run victory.
Meanwhile, overall this was Shami's third World Cup fifer as he equalled Starc's sensational record, who have also picked as many five-wicket hauls.
Meanwhile, Shami leads the list of most fifers by Indian bowlers with three against his name.

Earlier in the day, the Indian batters set up a commanding total of 357/8 in 50 overs. This achievement was notable for being the highest World Cup score without any player reaching a century. Key contributions came from Shreyas Iyer with a swift 56-ball 82, while Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill added 88 and 92 respectively. Their collective effort ensured India's fifth instance of surpassing the 350-run mark in World Cup history.
