Rohit Sharma-led team India are currently in the United States for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 where they played two matches and won both in the marquee event. Reportedly Indian management is not happy with the arrangements made by ICC for Men in Blue. As per News18 CricketNext, team India are forced to brought a gym membership outside the hotel.
Earlier, India head coach Rahul Dravid was also not seen happy with the arrangements he revealed that the team is practicing in a park.
“Yes, the team doesn’t use the hotel gym and they have a membership of a gym nearby and everyone uses that. It is a very popular gym chain,” a well-placed source tells News18 CricketNext.
“We all are aware of the rushed arrangements everywhere. From practice to ground to the gym facilities in the hotel, everything is here and there. Chaos is the right word,” adds the source.
Team India will play their last match in the USA on June 12 and will then move to Florida for their last group game vs Canada on June 15. Last victory against arch-rivals Pakistan put Rohit Sharma & Co. in a strong position to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the tournament.
Rahul Dravid on facilities provided by ICC for team India
"It's a bit strange to be practising in a park," said Dravid. "Obviously at the World Cups you'd be in big stadiums or you'd be at cricket stadiums traditionally. But you know, we're at a public park and practicing," added Rahul Dravid with a smile of sarcasm.
In the recent outing against Pakistan, India defeated its arch-rivals by six runs in a thriller at Nassau County International Stadium. Speedster Jasprit Bumrah was awarded Player of the Match for his game-changing 3-fer. He picked up Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed by concerning just 14 runs from his four-over spell.
